03-11-1974 HUCMRegular Meeting ` March 11, 1974 A regular meeting of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission was held on March 11, 1974 in the Hutchinson Utilities Commission meeting place at one o'clock p.m. All Commissioners were present; also Manager Wacker, "Butch" Wentworth, Distribution Foreman, Don Swanson and Dave Schmidt representing Associated Consultants. Minutes of February 11, 1974 were read and approved. Minutes of February 14, 1974, Special Meeting, were read and approved as corrected: Counsel for Hutchinson Utilities Commission was in attendance. No action resulted from the meeting. A report was given by Dave Schmidt on the electrical distribution system for the Hutchinson Utilities Commission. At two o'clock the following bids for a portable air compressor were opened: 1. Zeco Company - new $4,700.00 With trade in - 4,300.00 2. Hall Equipment Company 4,874.00 With trade in - 4,624.00 3. Olson Equipment Company 3,890.00 With trade in - 3,390.00 4. Minneapolis Equipment Co. 4,335.00 With trade in - 4,085.00 5. RMS Road Machinery & Supplies Company 4,400.00 With trade in - 4,200.00 Motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy, and unanimously carried to accept the bid of Olson Equip- ment Company, subject to reviewal by Manager Wacker. Progress report by Counsel Gilmer on the Worthington -Allis Chalmers case. No definite action from any point. A report was presented by Don Swanson on a general study of the future requirements of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission. General discussion by all parties present on Plan A of the report. F, 57 Rufus Mikulecky, of the Citizens Insurance Agency, appeared to inform the Commission on the Russell Dunning request for damages incurred on his property. During that period of time the Utilities Commission was covered by State Farm Insurance Company. Motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy, and unanimously carried to retain Peterson & Gilmer as legal counsel for the next fiscal year at the same rate of remuneration. Motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner Filk, and unanimously carried to rescind the motion of 1 -11 -74 to pay Energy Systems in full due to a paint problem. Motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner Filk, and unanimously carried to pay Energy Systems in the amount of $12,630.00. This amount set by a letter received from Pfeiffer & Schultz dated 2- 26 -74. Motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Commissioner Filk, and unanimously carried to adjust the Natural Gas underground connection charge to the following: EFFECTIVE APRIL 1, 1974 Underground Connection Charges: Natural Gas: 3/4" service within city limits $50.00 3/4" service outside city limits $50.00 plus cost of materials 1" service or larger as per agreement with utility Motion was made by Commissioner Filk, seconded by Commissioner Tracy, and unanimously carried to accept the agreement between McLeod Co -op and Hutchinson Utilities Commission.
