Q Z U- Special Meeting June 10, 1975 Commissioner Filk, Commissioner Tracy and Ruth Hakel were present. Meeting was called to order by Vice President Filk at 2:45 P.M. Motion was made by Commissioner Tracy, seconded by Filk to adopt the following resolution. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Cooperative Power Association and United Power Association have applied to the Environmental Quality Council for approval of their plans to install a direct current transmission line from North Dakota to Minnesota, and WHEREAS, the preferred corridor is the shortest route to follow it would be less costly, and WHEREAS, the energy provided by this line will be available for use in McLeod County and particularly the City of Hutchinson for expansion and new jobs in the community, and WHEREAS, it appears that the preferred corridor is the most feasible route to follow and it causes the least inconvenience to the fewest number of people, now therefore be it RESOLVED,that the Hutchinson Utilities Commission, of the City of Hutchinson, Hutchinson, Minnesota, is unanimously in favor of the construction of this transmission line in the preferred corridor in the best interests of the people of Hutchinson and McLeod County and the State of Minnesota, and be it further RESOLVED, we request the Environmental Quality Council to designate the preferred corridor as the corridor to be selected.
