Regular Meeting
November 25, 1998
All Commissioners were present; also present were Manager Kadrmas and
Attorney Marc Sebora.
President Carls called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m.
Secretary Ackland made a motion to approve the October 28, 1998, minutes as
presented. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Wetterling and passed
unanimously.
A motion was made by Vice President Gilmer to approve the payment of bills in
the amount of $592,542.19 (detailed listing is in payable book). The motion was
seconded by Commissioner Wetterling and passed unanimously.
Commissioner Wetterling made a motion to approve the Financial Statement and
Budget Year to Date. Seconded by Secretary Ackland the motion carried
unanimously.
After a presentation by the Hutchinson Tree board, Commissioner Wetterling
approved $20,000.00 Energy Grant funds for the Hutchinson Tree Board for the
year 1999. The motion was seconded by Vice President Gilmer and carried
unanimously.
Commissioner Ward made a motion to postpone the 1998 $25,000 for the HATS
facility and allocate these funds to Hutchinson School District #423 for
Commercial Energy Conservation. The motion was seconded by Vice President
Gilmer and carried with a 4 to 0 decision. President Carls obstained from the
vote.
A Charge -Off List of accounts was reviewed in the amount of $7,719.62 (see
page 2049 of December general journal). A motion was made by Commissioner
Wetterling and Seconded by Vice President Gilmer to charge off the accounts.
The motion carried unanimously.
Manager Kadrmas updated the commission on possibilities for Unit #9 and
informed them of the Unit #1 shutdown.
OLD BUSINESS
The commission reviewed the Budget for 1999. Secretary Ackland made a
motion to accept the 1999 Budget including the increase in contribution to the
City of Hutchinson from $695,000 to $720,000. The motion was seconded by
Dave Wetterling and carried unanimously.

Secretary Ackland made a motion that Hutchinson Utilities Commission
reconsider additional funds to the City of Hutchinson at the end of the 1999 year
to address the City of Hutchinson's special funding needs for the year 2000
budget. Seconded by Commissioner Wetterling, the motion carried unanimously.
Commissioner Ward made a motion to move ahead with architecture and
engineering services for the renovation and addition to the service center.
Seconded by Commissioner Wetterling the motion carried unanimously.
A motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner Wetterling and seconded by
Vice President Gilmer. The motion carried unanimously.
