Adjourned Meeting
July 9, 1942
An adjourned meeting of the Light and Power Commission was
held at 5;00 P. M. at the Light Plant office.
All commissioners were present. Sup "t. Strohmeier was also
present.
The minutes of the meeting of July 6, 1942 were read and
approved.
Motion was made, seconded and unanamously carried that the
final payment of $424.32 due the Carlstrom Construction Company
be allowed and paid.
The following resolution was introduced by Commissioner
Thompson who moved its adoption]
Where as the labor situation being uncertain and acute due
to war conditions, shortage of skilled workers and varying wages
etc. and
Where as it is deemed advisable and necessary to retain as
many of the employees as possible during the emergency, therefore
be it.
Resolved by the Light and Power Commission of the City of
Hutchinson, Minnesota that the following employees be granted
bonuses as here in after stipulated provided said employees remain
in continuous employment of the Municipal Electric Plant, from
July 1, 1942 to July 1, 1943 at which time said bonuses shall be-
come due and payable. -n Z D -A

And be it further resolved that the Light and Power Comm-
ission may at its option pro rate the above bonuses on a monthly
basis provided that the employee leave the employment of the
Municipal Electric Plant due to sickness or death or by being
either drafted into or by voluntarily serving in the armed forces
the United States of America.
Motion was seconded by R. W. Dahl and upon roll call all
Commissioners voted aye, where upon President Sheppard declared
the resolution duly adopted.
Motion was made, seconded and carried that the salary of
Fred W. Putney be increased to $160.00 per month effective as of
July 1, 1942.
Motion was made, seconded and carried that the Busch Sulzer
Bros. Diesel Engine Company's charge of $191.75 be allowed; skid
charge being due to contract change D, covering increase in raw
water piping sizes from 100 to 12" and from 12" to 14".

Motion was made, seconded and carried that effective at
once, operators shall change shifts each two weeks instead of
each four weeks.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
