Special Meeting

Upon notice duly given a special meeting of the Light & Power
Commission was held at 8 :00 A. M. in the offices of Dr. R. I. Sheppard,
President.
All members of the Commission were present. Superintendent
R. W. Strohmeier was also present.
Motion was made, seconded an unanimously carried that the
proposal of the Busch- Sulzer Bros. - Diesel Engine Co. for an engine,
generator, and accessories, which proposal was duly submitted and
filed an the 31st day of July, 1940, be accepted, all subject to
the terms and conditions contained in the plans and specifications`
as prepared by the Buell & Winter Engineering Company, and in the
Notice to Contractors on file with the Secretary of the Commission
and the Commission hereby exercises its option as to material and
equipment as hereinafter specified:
Engine: 3060 BHP, 240 RPM, 9 cy linder, 201" x 272 ", 61.81# BMEF
Generator: Allis Chalmers, 267 KVA, 2140 KW @ .80 PF arranged
for 2300 volt delta or 2300/3980 Volt Y connection, 60 cycles, with
temperature detectors in stator Lif available -- at no extra cost
Exciter: Allis Chalmers 30 KW, 1450 RPM, silent chain driven.
The price agreed upon shall be $179,775.00 in strict conformity
to the requirements of the plans and specifications and for all of
the work shown and specified therein, with payments therefor to be
made as called for under paragraph 41 of the General Specifications.
Motion was made, seconded and unanimously carried that the
President and Secretary be and they hereby are authorized and directed
to enter into and execute on behalf of the Light & Power Commission
of the City of Hutchinson, Minnesota, the necessary contract with the
Busch - Sulzer Bros.- Diesel Engine Co. to whom above work has been
awarded.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
