May 24, 2010
Present: Harriet Sturges, Phyllis Birkholz, Louise Jessen, Cliff Swanson, Julie Jensen,
Rick Reiner, Carrol Olson

I. The meeting was called to order at 10:04 a.m. by Carrol Olson
II. SecretaryÓs Report: The April minutes were examined. Louise made a motion to
approve the minutes and Harriet seconded the motion. Motion was approved.
III. TreasurerÓs Report: September reported income of almost $300 from card sales, a
$150 dance floor rental and a net dance loss of $40. An additional revenue of $780
came from a tour reimbursement. Rick made a motion to accept the report with a
second from Phyllis. The motion passed.
IV. Old Business

A.Tours- The Plymouth Playhouse was on May 12 and went without incident.

The June 27 mystery tour is sold out. A Green Lake tour scheduled for July

13 has 11 seats available. Julie has planned a trip to the Museum of Russian

Art on August 10 with a visit to a Russian restaurant and a chance see
Ukranian artists in action as added features. A tour will head to the State Fair

on September 2 and a Twins game is scheduled for September 22.
B. Update on Programs- The bike club is going to meet every week at 10:00a on
Tuesdays. They currently have six regular riders. The chair cover patterns are
cut out and ready to sew. Volunteers will be able to pick up the patterns and
sew at home at their convenience. The Police fishing outing is coming up in
June. The May movies were the classic ÐCasablancaÑ and the new hit ÐItÓs
ComplicatedÑ. There has been some discussion about what is appropriate for
movies at the Senior Center. Currently, requests are taken for movies and itÓs
up to the participants to decide whether they want to attend. Bone builders is
going well and they may start another class for advanced participants as they are
able to work out at a higher level.
V. New Business
A.China Rental Fee- The board discussed the possibility of lowering the fee for
china rentals to encourage greater use. It was decided to leave the fee at the
present rate for now and consider a lower price if it would result in greater
overall revenue.
B. Pool Concessions Volunteers- There are still a few openings to fill in the
calendar for pool volunteers. If they are not filled by the start of the season, city
concessions staff will cover the hours.
VI. Adjournment: Harriet made a motion to adjourn at 10:53am with a second from Rick.
The motion passed.
