IV. Old Business
A.Tours- Old Log Theater presented ÐDixie Swim ClubÑ to our tour group in
February. The trip to see the Kingston Trio went well and was just short of a
th
full bus. On April 6 there will be a trip to a flower show at Macys, and in
May, a trip to the Plymouth Playhouse. June will host a mystery tour. The
Twins trip is on hold due to the difficulty of getting tickets. A Green Lake tour
is scheduled in July and a trip to the State Fair in August. The Senior Center
th
will also be working with the Recreation Center to host a trip on May 16 to the
Target Center to see Lindsay Whalen play in her first game with the Minnesota
Lynx.
B. Update on Programs- The health talks have gone over pretty well with the
th
seniors. Next up is a discussion of gluten-free diets on April 12. The St.
PatrickÓs day dance came out $12 ahead and had about 50 participants. Dances
have now been scheduled through the summer months. Events coming up
include Nickel bingo for Red Hat Society, a Fellowship dinner, and the annual
volunteer luncheon.
V. New Business
A.Chair Covers Project- September reported that $1600 worth of material has
been purchased. The covers will end up costing between $3-4 a piece when
finished. September will have the seniors make chair covers for the Event
Center. They can be rented for $2 each and will be a great fundraiser.
B. Other- The board looked at moving the open house to September and combining
nd
it with a dance. September 22 will be the tentative date. Monday, Tuesday,
and Wednesday will be the scheduled days for the seniors to work at the pool
this summer.
VI. Adjournment: Cliff made a motion to adjourn at 10:52am with a second from Phyllis.
The motion passed.
Next Meeting: Monday, April 26th at 10:00 a.m.
