Members present: Deane Dietel, Mike Getzke,
Brain Wentlandt, Rose Jergens.
Vic Schmidt, Mark Schnobrich
Old Business
Soil enhancement requirements were discussed with the board suggesting that a
$1,000.00 escrow account be held until the development site meets enhancement
requirements. An option of denying occupancy was discussed as another possible
way to enforce the enhancement. However, that idea appeared difficult to enforce.
The next step in getting the requirements adopted will be another presentation to
the full planning commission.
MnDOT Roadside Enhancement Tree Planting
The board discussed which part of town they felt would best be met with tree
planting and it was tentatively decided that the north entrance would best be suited
for some type of improvement. Schnobrich will walk that area and see how feasible
planting would be in that area. Schnobrich also emphasized that the south side, Hwy
15 entrance, would be a good place to incorporate more trees. Especially with the
new development of Menards and Target and in the light of Wal Mart giving the
forestry dept. $500.00 for tree planting. Deane Dietel suggested that Mark get in
touch with Wal Mart to see if planting of their boulevard area would be within their
approval for use of their money.
New Business
The board was interested in the procedures pertaining to ponds in residential and
industrial areas and what the rules and regulations were that governed their up
keep and installation. Schnobrich will report back on that at the next meeting.
The board discussed the up coming energy tree planting presentation to the
Hutchinson Utilities Commission.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 P.M.
