4. Operational Issues (Open Proiects)
a) 2011 Airport Improvements — Runway Crack Repair
a. Review status of runway crack repair project -spray injection patching. Olson indicated that it is
still unknown what will happen with FAA funding, but it prudent to be prepared, as it is likely that
FAA will announce a limited time opportunity for AIP projects. Initial meetings with TKDA have
identified spray injection patching as a viable repair option. The lower cost of those repairs would
include the runway and taxiway.
b) FBO contract renewal
a. Advertisement for proposals was published in the City's official newspaper on March 22 and
March 24, with a due date of April 15, 2011. Additional fax advertisements will be made to FBO's
within 60 or 70 miles, not including the metropolitan area.
b. Two proposals were received by the due date: Hutchinson Aviation (Thomas Parker) and
Hutchinson Air Service (Jim Weckman/Jay Ferrell).
c. A subcommittee of the Airport Commission was named to meet to discuss basic tenants of the FBO
agreement on April 26 and to conduct interviews with the two candidates on April 28.

renewal, considering information gathered during the two interim meetings of the subcommittee.
