5. Future Proiects
2010 Airport Improvements — Working with TKDA, City Engineer on 2010 runway safety improvements.
Authorization of full AIP funding for 2010 has not yet taken place. City can file for a project in
anticipation the AIP will be fully funded. We hope to use City equipment to mill/reclaim transverse cracks.
City would mill/reclaim cracks and coordinate with a paving contractor to make full depth repairs. This
will give us the longest life possible.
South Taxilane Ditch. More than enough of the Life Link III hangar material would be available for this
project. Engineering Department has finished up plans /specs and estimate. Staff recommends working
with volunteer groups to accomplish much of the work. Juli will look into the cost of acquiring 15" dual
wall tile. At a minimum, it would be best to have the elevations of the tile set by staff prior to allowing any
volunteer work to be done. It was recommended that volunteers be covered by the state's Adopt -an- Airport
program.
