M eeti ng cal I ed to order at 5:30 p. m. There was a quorum of members present.
1. Approve M inutes of February 18, 2010 meeting
Motion made by Freeman, second by Mayor Cook to approve minutes. Unanimous approval.

3. Review Updated Hangar Assignments

Olson reported hangar door #3 -8 was repaired this month.
4. Operational Issues(Open Projects)
a) 2009 Airport Improvements— Hangar
a. Substantial completion. Punch list isalmost finished. Landscaping remains.
Olson reported resultsof Planning Commission meeting (04/20/10). Trailer isto be
moved to the south so it is 41' away from the hangar and about 11' away from the Civil
Air Patrol (CAP) building.
b) Joseph P. Dooley Terminal
a. Presentation was made by Robert Hantge regardi ng plans for the dedication of Joseph P. Dooley
terminal. There wi I I bean air show on Saturday August 7, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00, with the rain
day being Sunday August 8. The CAP squadron wi I I be providing assistance for the show and wi I I
be providing food sales as a fundraiser for their squadron. The Explorer post will also be asked to
parti ci pate. The group promoting the air show would also I i ke to have the opportunity to highlight
thenewLifeLinklll building. Perhaps Life Link I I I/Ai r Methodswould host an open house for
the public and/or display their aircraft and equipment. Tax deductible contributions may be made
to the Hutchinson Foundation.
A motion was made by Freeman, second by Neubarth to authorize an ai r show at Hutchi nson
Municipal Airport — Butler Field on August 7, 2010, with August 8, 2010 asthe rain day.

b. Mr. Hantge then chat Ienged the Commission to parti ci pate in the cost of putting a sign on the
maintenance hangar bui I ding, to the effect of: "Hutchinson, MN — Butler Field —Elevation 1060."
A I so, M r. H antge recommended the Commi ssi on consi der an i ndoor changeabl a message board
identifying vari ous servi ces avai I abl a at the airport. After discussion about this topic, a motion was
made by Neubarth, second by Mayor Cook to authorize up to $1,000 for signs. Unanimous
approval.
Staff will coordinatewith Mr. Hantgeon find design.
c) Fuel System
a. Fuel system upgrade. Olson reported that the fuel projects have been submitted to M n /DOT.
M n /DOT funding source should beat 70% rate.
5. Future Projects
2010 Airport Improvements —Olson reported on a recent meeting with TKDA and the City Engineer
regarding the potential 2010 improvement project (runway safety improvements) to address transverse
cracking on the runway. Authorization of additional Al P funding for 2010, above the currently available
fundi ng is $81,401 for 2010, has not yet taken pl ace, but is expected to take place i n I ate A pri I or M ay
2010.
South Taxi lane Ditch. Some of the material stockpiled for this project will be used for landscaping around
the Life L i nk I I I hangar. There should be plenty of material I eft for the proj ect. The Engi neeri ng
Department wiI I finish up plans and specifications for the project soon.
6. Other Discussions) New Business
Door seal on hangar #3 -6 wi I I need to be i nspected by staff and, if necessary, be replaced.
Sweepi ng at the ai rport should be done.
At 6:15, a motion to adjourn was made by Neubarth, second by Mayor Cook. Unanimous approval.
