Attending: Dianne Wanzek, Betsy Czmowski, Julie Johansen, Carolyn Ulrich, Katy Hiltner,
ex officio.
Reviewed and approved minutes of May 18, 2026.
Old Business
1. Summer Staff Update
a. 11 applications for 1 open position (up to 18 hr/week including multiple
Saturdays. Plans to begin interviews June 25)
2. Launch of Summer Reading
a. Summer Reading is off to a great start!
i. 352 children have signed up
ii. 41 teens have signed up
iii. Over 100 adults have taken reading logs (are counted when they turn
in their logs)
1. Received donations and coupons from local businesses for
adults who turn in their completed log
3. Children's Program stats
a. Stories in the Park-
i. First program was canceled and will hopefully be rescheduled
ii. DNR naturalist Savannah Stephenson.Topic: trees- 120 attendees
b. Lego Farm Challenge- 16 kids
c. Teen Craft Cafe-7
d. Community Day for Water Carnival- 100 kids
4. Program Reminders:
a. Voice from History Past- Friday June 26thwith Kay Voigt and Tim Fallon @ the
Depot
b. UMN Extension Class-July 7th at Senior Center
5. PLS Director Retirement- Last Day July 10th
a. Rachelle Golde named new PLS Director
6. Julie Johansen agreed to be the Pioneer Board Representative. She sent a letter to
City Council for approval. It was accepted and she will attend the next meeting
(which should be in the fall due to quarterly meeting schedule).

a. Make Your Own Mini Greenhouse-June 25
b. Make a Mini Beaded Plant-June 29

3. Holiday Closure-Saturday July 4th
