Meeting Minutes
April 7, 2025
Members present were Kyle Wendling, Liz Stearns, Margo Kaping,Josh Kamrath, Eric Thovson. Staff
present Lynn Neumann, Leslie Alberts, Sara Witte& Randy Carter.
Kyle Wendling called the meeting to order at 5:15 pm.
Eric Thovson moved to approve the April 7, 2025, meeting minutes.Josh Kamrath seconded the motion.
The minutes were approved.
Old Business
Summer Brochure
• Registration opens Wednesday, April 9 at 9am.
• Brochure cost: how much per brochure? Can we cut out the commercial routes to save
on cost?
New Business
Resident Request: John Dietel
• RC(remote control car)Terrain Park for interested patrons
• Potential location:Tartan Park near playground area
• Willing to assist in maintenance with others in community
• There are larger vehicles that partake—go faster;would like to have friendly
competition within the community
• Nearest communities that also have this kind of park are Willmar and Otsego
• Board would like to see rules& safety guidelines as the cars can be fast
• Internal discussion will happen for funding
Aquatic Center: Zipline Discussion—Randy Carter
• Aquatic Center is 9 years old; zipline has not functioned properly since installation
• Has been "band-aided"to modify and get by—safety concerns for lifeguards& patrons
• Options for zipline:
o $8,000 for a modification to make it safer
o $30,000 to be properly engineered to safety standards and takes liability off the
City
o Omit zipline from the Aquatic Center and add additional features in the deep
end of the lap pool to add something different
2024 Hutchinson PRCE Annual Report—Lynn Neumann
• Presented the annual report to the advisory board
• Lyndsey Grand has accepted the Aquatics& Recreation Programmer position for 2025
• Burich Foundation donated $60,000 for new digital signage in front of Burich Arena East
rink—this will be installed within the next 2 months
Board Member Items
• Notifications on cancellations for early morning activities in school facilities—how do we push
these out in a more efficient manner when school closes due to weather and other conditions?
(also goes for TBall, and other outdoor summer activities)
