Meeting Minutes
June 2,2025
Members present were Liz Stearns, Margo Kaping,Josh Kamrath, Eric Thovson, Ann Lamecker, Chad
Czmowski and Erin Knudtson. Staff present Lynn Neumann and Leslie Alberts. Guest Speaker:Josh
Vandenberg.
Josh Kamrath called the meeting to order at 5:15 pm.
Erin Knudtson moved to approve the May 5, 2025, meeting minutes. Ann Lamecker seconded the
motion.The minutes were approved.
Old Business
Parks Maintenance Equipment Operator Vacancy
• Position closed May 21
• Received 28 applications
• Will interview 7 applicants
VMF Update
• Huskies will be hosting a dedication June 14 for the new remodel
• One item left to finish is to lay turf on grassy area
New Business
Hutchinson Baseball Association Request—Josh Vandenberg
• Looking to install batting cages at Northwoods park
• Association has raised $18,000 since February;will continue to raise funds for the total project
• Looking at$30,000 total for the project—most work will be done by the welding class to cut
down on cost
• Association will need to create formal proposal for City Council to approve
2025 Aquatic Center Update
• Open Date: June 9, 2025
• Updated cost for private rentals is$350/hour for 2025 compared to$300/hour in 2024
• Pool does have a leak in it. It has been repaired to working status for 2025. Cost to fix the leak
would be$500,000
• Mechanical issues are fixed. Pumphouse is on the network so will receive real-time updates as
needed to function properly
• Aquatic Center is fully staffed for 2025. Lyndsey Grand will be starting after the school year to
assist with pool & PRCE functions
Board Member Items
• Early morning lap swimmers wondering if we can put any restrictions/signage on when & how
long to use lane lines since it seems crowded at the Carlson pool and Aquatic Center. They were
also wondering when lap swim would begin at the outdoor pool. We will look into confirmed
start date and email all lap swimmers with additional information.
• Pickleball nets at Park Elementary are reported as rusting causing markings on the courts. We
will look into this with Sara Witte, Parks Supervisor.
• Chad Czmowski will be bringing treats to the August meeting for his birthday.
• Next meeting date will be August 4—moved to approve by Erin Knudtson and seconded by Liz
Stearns.
