11-07-2022 PRCEM Parks, Recreation & Community Education Advisory Board Meeting Minutes November 7, 2022 Members present were Josh Kamrath, Erin Knudtson, Jeff Hoeft, Kyle Wendling, Chad Czmowski, Ashley Gabbert. Staff present Lynn Neumann, Sara Witte and Jody Harms. The meeting was called to order at 5:15 pm. Motion was made by Josh Kamrath, to approve the minutes for October 3. Erin Knudtson second the motion. Minutes were approved. Old Business Election of Advisory Board Chair Kyle Wendling was elected to become the advisory board chairperson.. Review PRCE Board Applications o Four new applications were received for openings on the PRCE Advisory Board.  Kim, Schutt, Elizabeth Stearns, Aric Jensen, & Jared Golde nd  A Motion was made to approve Kim Schutt by Ashley Gabbert and 2 by Kyle Wendling nd  A motion was made to approve Elizabeth Stearns by Chad Czmowski and 2 by Erin Knudtson  Kim and Elizabeth’s applications will be presented and recommended to the Mayor for appointment by the city council to the PRCE Advisory Board at the November 22 council meeting. Dogs & Animals in Parks Ordinance Change Update o Updated Ordinance was shared. Please see attached. Civic Rec Registration Software Implementation Update o Training is complete and the system will be live on December 15. o Information will be advertised to inform families of the new system. Masonic West River Campground Usage Report o Information given out regarding campground usage. Please see attached. New Business Shady Ridge Park Improvements Presentation o Tyriina O’Neil Kalenberg gave a detailed presentation of updates for Shady Ridge Park and fundraising efforts. Resources may include PRCE funds, neighborhood donations, grants (waiting on approval), and matching funds from 3M employees MDE Community Education Annual Report o Yearly report of Community Education classes and facility rentals. Winter/Spring Brochure o Winter/Spring brochure registrations will open around December 15 River Rental Discussion o Discussion on the future of River Rentals at the campground. Working to minimize losses and utilize staff efficiently. o Open during key events or holidays at not cost to see if utilization increases. Next PRCE Meeting – February 6, 2023 o No meetings in December and January. Park Elementary Warming Shelter o Discussion regarding ice rink usage at Park and Northwoods. Northwoods has very low attendance. Talked about expanding Park Ice Rink and discontinuing Northwoods. Adjournment A motion to adjourn was made by Kyle Wendling and Ashley Gabbert second the motion.
