08-01-2022 PRCEM Parks, Recreation & Community Education Advisory Board Meeting Minutes August 1, 2022 Members present were Ashley Gabbert, Josh Kamrath, Craig Juhnke, Mark Lansink, Erin Knudtson & Liz Marcus. Staff present Lynn Neumann and Jody Harms. The meeting was called to order at 5:15 pm. Motion was made by Erin Knudtson to approve the minutes for May 2. Mark Lansink second the motion. Minutes were approved. New Business  Civic Rec software o Civic Rec will be the new registration/reservation system. o Training has begun and will continue until October 18. o Registrations/Reservations through Civic Rec will begin with the 2023 Winter-Spring Brochure.  PRCE New Logo o The new PRCE logo has been created with Vivid Image.  PRCE Website Refresh o The PRCE website is in the process of being updated. o Staff will be able to update pages as needed.  Bicycle Friendly Community Application o An application will be submitted to renew membership to the Bicycle Friendly Community. o The application has been updated and more in depth. o Current ranking is Bronze. Hoping to increase rating to Silver or higher.  Splash pad Project Public Engagement Results and Next Steps o Due to the increased budget for the new police department, the splash pad has been pushed back to 2024. o Grants and donations may help to move up the project. o Possible phasing the project has been discussed. o Bids for the project will be requested January 2024 o The delay of the Splash Pad will be communicated to the public. o There was a good response to the survey, and the results were discussed. Board Member Items th  Fireman’s Park playground installation scheduled for the 4 week in August. All three phases will be installed.  A decision regarding BIRD scooters will be made soon. A visit to New Ulm is scheduled for August.  A Go Fund Me for Shady Ridge Park was created by Shady Ridge – local neighbors. The playground replacement is scheduled for 2026. It may happen sooner if funds for the project are raised. Adjournment A motion to adjourn was made by Erin Knudtson and Josh Kamrath second the motion. Meeting adjourned at 6:00 pm.
