04-04-2022 PRCEM Parks, Recreation & Community Education Advisory Board Meeting Minutes April 4, 2022 Members present were Chad Czmowski, Ashley Gabbert, Josh Kamrath, Liz Marcus, Jeff Hoeft, Kyle Wendling, Craig Juhnke. Staff present Lynn Neumann and Leslie Alberts. The meeting was called to order at 5:15 pm. Motion was made by Josh Kamrath to approve the minutes for March 7. Craig Juhnke second the motion. Minutes were approved. Old Business 1. Splash Pad Design and Operation Presentation Follow up – Next meeting will be public engagement and initial design elements. Timeline will come after design and public engagement. Engagement ideas: Water carnival/Boat parade, Common Cup/Hutchinson Health free family swim nights 2. Bicycle Fleet Update: Funding for the bike fleet has been secured. How do we advertise? Surrounding communities can rent. Rentals can be offered at the campground as well. New Business 2021 Annual Report a) Lynn to report to City Council next week. b) Annual report goes into a Master City Annual report. Summer 2022 Brochure a) Passed around brochure for all members to view Kiwanis Park Project a) Randy Carter, Parks Maintenance, will sandblast the rocket and paint it. Patrons will be able to climb to the first level of the rocket. b) Better swings will be installed. c) Total project: $20,000 – some funds will be allocated from the City budget to assist with covering the cost. d) Phase II: new overhead garage doors similar to Northwoods will be installed. Board Member Items a) Chad Czmowski asked if open gym could be offered through April due to the weather. Lynn will check into this with John McRaith. Adjournment Motion was made to adjourn by Kyle Wendling. Josh Kamrath second the motion. Meeting adjourned at 5:50 pm. Next Meeting: May 2, 2022 - City Center Conference Room
