Hutchinson Police Commission Minutes
The Hutchinson Police Commission held a meeting on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the Hutchinson Police Station.
Present at the meeting were, Chairperson Matt Beilke, Commissioner Kim Pearson, Commissioner Liz Cheney, and
Chief Tom Gifferson.
Call the Meeting to Order:
Chairperson Matt Beilke called the meeting to order at 4:45 pm.
Approval of Agenda:
Chairperson Beilke asked if there were any changes to the August agenda. Commissioner Pearson made a motion to
approve the agenda, seconded by Commissioner Cheney. The motion carried unanimously.
Approval of Minutes:
Chairperson Beilke asked the Commission to approve the minutes from the July meeting. Commissioner Cheney made
a motion to accept the minutes with a change to the August meeting time, seconded by Commissioner Pearson. The
motion carried unanimously.
Staffing Issues:
Chief Gifferson updated the Commission on the progress of Police Officer Brandon Lietzau.
Chief Gifferson updated the Commission on the assignment of Officer M. Duenow.
Chief Gifferson informed the Commission that Officer Matt Bergmann had resigned.
Rules and Regs:
Chief Gifferson aske the Commission to approve or deny starting a hiring process. Chairperson Beilke made a motion
to approve starting a hiring process, seconded by Commissioner Cheney. The motion passed unanimously.

Union Update:
Adjourn: Chairperson Beilke made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Cheney to adjourn the meeting. The motion
carried unanimously. Time of adjournment 4:49 pm.
