III. Monthly Sales Review: There was no review for March.
IV. Old Business
A. Flag Pole Plaque- The plaque that will be placed next to the flag pole at the
Senior Center is ready to go. They are just waiting on the stone. There was also
some discussion about repairing or replacing the flag as it is starting to get
tattered.
B. Book & Puzzle Sale- It was decided that a two-day sale would work best with
the times set for 9:00am to 3:00pm each day.
VI. Business
A. Senior Center Tours- Julie reported that the trip to Bloomington for lunch and a
performance of love songs at the Ives Auditorium went well with 35 people in
th
attendance. A group visited the Chanhassen Dinner Theater on March 16 to
th
see “Footloose” and that tour had 42 registered. On April 14 we will travel to
th
the Old Log Theater for a show featuring Jimmy Buffet music. On May 17 we
will be visiting the Paramount Theater in St. Cloud to listen to the “Killer Vees”
who are some friends and relatives of Bobby Vee. Lunch will be served at the
th
Coyote Moon Grille. June 29 will bring a second visit to a St. Paul Saints
game including a pre-game picnic. The always popular cruise is back again this
summer and will feature a meal at the Afton House Inn followed by a float
th
down the St. Croix river. August 29 is the date for this year’s visit to the State
Fair.
B. Update on Programs- The movie for April will be “Harriet” which is about the
life of Harriet Tubman. Book Clubs are doing fine with Club A reading “The
Mother-in-Law” and Club B reading “Prayers for Sale”. The card making club
is busy keeping up with demand as the cards are moving out quickly. SAIL
continues to draw good numbers.
C. Other- The informational meeting on the future of the Event Center was very
well attended and showed the concern our seniors have for the future of a Senior
Center.
VI. Adjournment: Al made a motion to adjourn at 10:40am with a second from Randy.
The motion passed. The next scheduled meeting of the Senior Advisory Board will
be Monday, April 25th at 10:00am.
